The Murshidabad heritage and academic tour has officially commenced with the objective of showcasing the heritage tourism of Murshidabad district and Bengal to a national and global audience. The tour aims to shed light on numerous historical sites that have remained obscure or overlooked, despite their historical significance.The inaugural event took place at Rabindra Sadan in Baharampur on Sunday morning, attended by members of the Murshidabad District History and Culture Center, as well as prominent figures from the district.
Notably, recent efforts have identified Kiriteshwari village in Murshidabad as the country's top tourist village, underscoring the district's historical prominence. Given its rich history, Murshidabad is particularly reliant on the tourism industry.
With this in mind, the Murshidabad Heritage and Academic Tour was initiated at the heart of the district, spearheaded by the Murshidabad District History and Culture Center.
